Serrated Edge — Beast Breathing Design

The defining feature of every Inosuke katana is the serrated edge. Rectangular teeth run along the cutting line of both blades — deliberate, not accidental. In Demon Slayer, Inosuke Hashibira chipped his Nichirin swords by smashing them against rocks, discovering that jagged blades tear demon flesh more effectively than smooth edges. This replica reproduces those serrations faithfully: each tooth is shaped and positioned to match the canonical design. The serrated edge makes these the most unconventional functional blades in our lineup — they cut differently than any other sword we sell.

No Tsuba — Guardless Like the Canon

Inosuke's swords have no tsuba (hand guard). He stole his Nichirin blades from a Demon Slayer Corps member he defeated and never bothered adding proper fittings. The result is a stripped-back weapon with nothing between handle and blade — raw, minimal, feral. This replica follows that design: black cotton ito wraps the handle directly, with no guard, no habaki collar, no decorative fittings. The Inosuke katana is the opposite of every ornate sword in our catalog, and that's the point.

Dual Blades — Two-Sword Set

This listing includes two swords. Inosuke is one of the few Demon Slayer characters who dual-wields — his Beast Breathing techniques require two blades for multi-directional attacks. The paired swords cross naturally on the included display stand. Display them together (always — separating Inosuke's dual-wield loses the entire identity). Add Tanjiro's black blade, Zenitsu's lightning katana, and Rengoku's flame sword from our Demon Slayer katana collection to build the full Kamaboko Squad lineup.

Inosuke Hashibira — The Beast That Breathes

Raised by boars in the mountains after being abandoned as an infant, Inosuke Hashibira taught himself to fight by watching animals. His Beast Breathing is entirely self-invented — no master, no lineage, no formal technique. When he joined the Demon Slayer Corps, he brought that feral combat style and refused every convention: he wears a boar-head mask, forgets everyone's names, and deliberately damages his own swords. Despite that, he repeatedly defeats demons through raw instinct and savage aggression. His white Nichirin blades turned that color because the Corps' classification system couldn't categorize someone who learned from beasts rather than breathing technique lineage.

Display

Ships with a horn-style bronze stand on a wood base. The two Inosuke katana blades cross on the stand — white scabbards forming an X against the dark base. The white-and-black palette is deliberately minimal: Inosuke doesn't decorate, doesn't polish, doesn't maintain. These pair perfectly with our Nichirin, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Rengoku swords — Inosuke's stripped feral blades provide the savage counterpoint the collection needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the edges serrated?

In Demon Slayer, Inosuke deliberately chips his sword edges by smashing them against rocks. He discovered that jagged blades tear demon flesh more effectively. The serrations are a canonical design feature, not damage — this replica faithfully reproduces them.

Why is there no tsuba?

Inosuke stole his swords and never added proper fittings. The guardless design is faithful to the anime and manga. The handle wrapping begins where a tsuba would normally sit.

Does this include two swords?

Yes. This listing includes two 1060 carbon steel swords with matching white scabbards and a shared display stand. Inosuke dual-wields — both blades are included.

Are the serrated blades sharp?

Yes. Both blades are hand-sharpened 1060 carbon steel. The serrated teeth are functional — handle with extra care due to the irregular edge profile. Check local regulations before ordering.

What is Beast Breathing?

Beast Breathing is a self-taught sword style created by Inosuke Hashibira, based on animal combat he observed growing up in the mountains. Techniques include Fang, Devour, and Spatial Awareness. It exists outside the formal Breathing technique lineage used by other Demon Slayer Corps members.

Care & Maintenance

To maintain your katana's appearance and performance over time, we recommend:

- Regularly wiping the blade with a soft cloth to remove fingerprints and moisture.
- Applying a light coat of choji oil to prevent rust (for carbon steel blades).
- Storing the sword in a dry place, preferably inside its saya.
- Avoiding direct contact with hard surfaces to preserve sharpness and finish.

Good sword, small issue on arrival

Saya mouth was slightly loose when I got it, fitting tape sorted it. Balance is great though. People at my dojo always ask about it.

Way better than I expected

Hamon is clean, handle wrap tight, saya closes solid. Came in a wooden box. No complaints at all for the price.

Nice blade but took 2 weeks to arrive

Damascus looks great. Shipping to Portland took forever and tracking was dead for a week. Quality is there, logistics need work.
