The Mortal Blade — Fushigiri
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the Mortal Blade (Fushigiri — 不死斬り, "Immortal Severance") is the only weapon that can permanently kill immortal beings. Normal swords wound them; they regenerate. The Mortal Blade severs the connection to immortality itself, granting true death. Wolf retrieves it from the Divine Child of the Rejuvenating Waters to pursue one of the game's endings — Immortal Severance, where Kuro's Dragon Heritage is destroyed and the cycle of undying finally breaks. The Sekiro Death Blade is mercy forged into steel.
Copper Lotus Tsuba
The tsuba is the most distinctive feature on this sword — a copper lotus flower in full three-dimensional bloom, petals opening outward from the blade. The lotus is Buddhism's most important symbol: it grows from mud yet blooms pure, representing enlightenment arising from suffering. On a blade designed to sever immortality and grant the peace of true death, the lotus is not decoration — it is doctrine. The copper develops a dark patina over time, matching the aged tone of the rosewood saya and the dark blade.
Aged Rosewood Saya
The saya is aged rosewood with the grain left visible beneath a minimal finish — dark chocolate tones with subtle red-brown lines running the length of the scabbard. Rosewood is denser and heavier than the softwoods used in most replicas, giving the saya real substance when you hold it. An engraved silver band wraps the koiguchi, and the kojiri and kashira are finished in matching silver. This is not a bright, glossy scabbard — it looks like a weapon that has been carried, used, and aged through service.
Sekiro — Shadows Die Twice
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019, FromSoftware) won Game of the Year and redefined action combat with its posture-based system. The game explores immortality as curse rather than blessing — every major character suffers from the inability to die, and the Mortal Blade exists as the only solution. The Sekiro Death Blade is the second Sekiro sword in our catalog alongside Kusabimaru (Wolf's primary weapon). Where Kusabimaru represents the fight, the Mortal Blade represents the reason for fighting — ending the cycle of cursed immortality. This is a functional blade, not a prop — manganese steel, sharpened, full tang.
Gaming Collection & Display
Ships with an ornate black stand with painted flower-dragon panel. Display the Sekiro Death Blade alongside Kusabimaru for the complete Sekiro pair — Wolf's fighting blade and the ritual weapon that determines the ending. Both sit in our gaming katana collection with Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima, and Vergil's Yamato. The dark rosewood saya and lotus tsuba give this blade a sombre, ritual quality that sets it apart from every other sword in the lineup.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Mortal Blade in Sekiro?
The Mortal Blade (Fushigiri) is the only weapon in Sekiro capable of killing immortal beings permanently. It severs their connection to the Dragon Heritage, granting true death. It is central to the Immortal Severance ending.
What is the lotus on the tsuba?
The copper lotus flower is a Buddhist symbol representing enlightenment through suffering — growing from mud, blooming pure. On a blade that grants merciful death to cursed immortals, the lotus represents liberation and peace after suffering.
Is this Sekiro Death Blade sharp?
Yes. The high-manganese carbon steel blade is hand-sharpened and functional. Handle with care, store in the saya, and check local regulations before ordering.
What is the difference between this and your other Sekiro katana?
Our Sekiro Kusabimaru is Wolf's primary combat blade — T10 steel with purple gradient and ornate fittings. The Death Blade (Mortal Blade) is the ritual weapon used to sever immortality — manganese steel, dark finish, lotus tsuba, rosewood saya. Different swords, different purposes in the game.
Is the saya real rosewood?
Yes. The saya is aged rosewood with the natural grain visible beneath a minimal finish. Rosewood is denser than standard softwoods, giving the scabbard additional weight and a richer tone.

Excellent
Good sword, small issue on arrival
Saya mouth was slightly loose when I got it, fitting tape sorted it. Balance is great though. People at my dojo always ask about it.
Way better than I expected
Hamon is clean, handle wrap tight, saya closes solid. Came in a wooden box. No complaints at all for the price.
Got it as a gift, he was speechless
Bought for my boyfriend who does iaido. He said the fit and finish were legit. I knew nothing about swords, site made it easy to pick.
Nice blade but took 2 weeks to arrive
Damascus looks great. Shipping to Portland took forever and tracking was dead for a week. Quality is there, logistics need work.
Third order, still no complaints
Ordered three times over two years. Always well packed, matches the photos. Support replied same day. Will keep coming back.
