Molten Drip Blade — Tectonic Blue
The polished 1060 blade transitions from silver steel into a glacial blue section near the habaki, and white-gold molten drips flow down from the blue zone — irregular, organic, dimensional. The drips mimic cooling lava solidifying on rock, or glacial melt cascading down a frozen cliff. Each drip is individually formed, creating raised relief visible and tactile. The Earthbreaker katana blade looks like a geological event happened during forging — blue ice meeting molten earth, frozen mid-collision on the steel surface.
Two Saya — Glacial Blue & Copper Crackle
The Earthbreaker katana ships with two saya. The primary is glacial blue lacquer with the same white molten drip pattern as the blade — blue and drips continuing from steel to scabbard in a single visual register. The secondary is copper/rose-gold with black crackle veining — the pattern mimicking cooled volcanic rock with obsidian fractures. Two scabbards, two geological states: the blue represents glacial pressure, the copper represents volcanic heat. Alongside the Winter Spirit, the Earthbreaker is the only katana in our catalog shipping with two saya.
Honeycomb Habaki & Chrome Dragon Tsuba
The brass habaki features hexagonal honeycomb openwork — the same geometric style found on our Obsidian Katana, here paired with a chrome-finish dragon tsuba. The honeycomb creates warm gold lattice between blade and guard, the dragon coils in bright silver above it, and the black handle grounds the composition below. Three metals in three finishes at three positions — gold, chrome, black — creating visual rhythm from blade through guard through handle.
Black Handle — Neutral Base
Black cotton ito wraps over synthetic rayskin with white menuki as grip accents. The handle is deliberately neutral — black serving as the dark ground that lets the blue blade, gold habaki, chrome tsuba, and dual-colored saya carry the Earthbreaker's visual identity. The Earthbreaker katana has enough happening above and below the handle; the grip stays quiet.
Earthbreaker — Tectonic Force
The Earthbreaker channels geological violence: tectonic plates colliding, volcanoes erupting, glaciers fracturing under pressure. The molten drip on the blade is the magma. The glacial blue is the ice. The copper crackle saya is the cooled lava. The whole sword tells the story of earth transforming itself through force — the same force that creates mountains, opens oceans, and reshapes continents. Browse our collection for the full elemental lineup.
Display
Ships with an ornate black stand with painted dragon panel. Display with the primary blue saya for the glacial look, or swap to the copper crackle saya for the volcanic register. Pair with the Winter Spirit (glacial blue + frost — same ice family) or the Frostbite (ice crackle — different frozen approach) for a geological trio.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the molten drip pattern?
White-gold dimensional drips flow down the blade from a glacial blue section near the habaki. Each drip is individually formed in raised relief — visible and tactile. The pattern mimics cooling lava or glacial melt.
Does this really include two scabbards?
Yes. A primary glacial blue saya with matching drip pattern and a secondary copper/rose-gold saya with black crackle veining. Two geological moods for one blade.
Is this Earthbreaker katana sharp?
Yes. The 1060 carbon steel blade is hand-sharpened and functional. Handle with care, store in the saya, and check local regulations before ordering.
What is the honeycomb habaki?
The brass habaki features hexagonal openwork creating a lattice pattern — the same geometric style found on our Obsidian Katana. It provides warm gold accent between blade and guard.
How does this compare to the Winter Spirit?
Both ship with two saya. The Winter Spirit is glacial blue + white frost with a striped handle — serene winter. The Earthbreaker is glacial blue + copper crackle with molten drip blade — violent geology. Same dual-saya concept, different elemental energy.

Excellent
Good sword, small issue on arrival
Saya mouth was slightly loose when I got it, fitting tape sorted it. Balance is great though. People at my dojo always ask about it.
Way better than I expected
Hamon is clean, handle wrap tight, saya closes solid. Came in a wooden box. No complaints at all for the price.
Got it as a gift, he was speechless
Bought for my boyfriend who does iaido. He said the fit and finish were legit. I knew nothing about swords, site made it easy to pick.
Nice blade but took 2 weeks to arrive
Damascus looks great. Shipping to Portland took forever and tracking was dead for a week. Quality is there, logistics need work.
Third order, still no complaints
Ordered three times over two years. Always well packed, matches the photos. Support replied same day. Will keep coming back.
