Black dragon design / Full Black
A black blade, black cotton and black lacquer give this katana its dark outline. Two details break it up: a warm brass collar at the guard and a silver dragon running along the scabbard. The result stays simple from a distance, with more to notice up close.
The blade
The blade is sharpened 1060 carbon steel with full-tang construction. Its black finish extends the dark palette beyond the handle and scabbard, while reflections still pick out the blade's shape in the gallery. The blade measures 72 cm, within a 105 cm overall length. The fittings
The iron-alloy tsuba has raised decorative detail around the blade. Beside it, a brass habaki with a chevron pattern adds a small, warm accent. Black cotton wraps the handle over black synthetic rayskin, and the matching black cord rests against a lacquered wooden saya with a silver dragon motif.
Black is the main color, rather than the only one. The silver dragon remains visible with the sword sheathed, and the brass collar marks the point where blade and handle meet.
