Gold: cream-gold silk with dragon-cloud brocade in silver and gold tones. Red: deep red with gold chrysanthemum scrollwork and longevity medallions (寿). Each Katana Silk Bag uses the same orange satin lining and gold drawstring closure regardless of exterior design.

Transport and Protection

The silk bag provides a lightweight protective layer for transporting a sheathed katana between locations. The orange satin lining prevents the saya lacquer from rubbing against fabric during movement. The drawstring cinches at the opening, keeping the sword secure without rigid hardware. Folds flat when not in use. A free Katana Silk Bag is included with every katana purchase — this listing is for collectors who want additional bags in different designs or replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the silk bag included with my katana order?

Yes. One silk bag is included free with every katana purchase. This product listing is for buying additional bags separately.

Will this fit a tanto or wakizashi?

Yes. The bag is sized for full-length katana (105 cm). Shorter blades like tanto and wakizashi fit with extra length folded at the opening.

Is the fabric real silk?

Silk-style brocade with woven patterns. The interior is orange satin. Both layers provide soft, non-abrasive contact with the saya surface.

Care & Maintenance

To maintain your katana's appearance and performance over time, we recommend:

- Regularly wiping the blade with a soft cloth to remove fingerprints and moisture.
- Applying a light coat of choji oil to prevent rust (for carbon steel blades).
- Storing the sword in a dry place, preferably inside its saya.
- Avoiding direct contact with hard surfaces to preserve sharpness and finish.
